Frito's for Breakfast

Sometimes, I really feel like I've got it all together. Most days, the house is presentable(at least the bathroom, kitchen and family room), we get to school, daycare and work on time, and I generally cook the meals we're home for. Laundry is at an acceptable level, I've gotten my study time in, we've all eaten balanced meals, and Trent hasn't watched 85 episodes of Go, Diego, Go most weeks.

This week, however, is not one of those. The laundry has currently taken over my bedroom floor, the toilet and bathtub are far overdue for a scrubbing, and our kitchen is still is disarray from the tiling job we've been working on for nearly a month. And I've struggled with it for the past few days, being not-so-nice at times, and trying to get in my jabs where I can, saying the word "no" more times than I care to admit, oftentimes before I even hear the whole question or sentence.

Today, however, I realized, "Who cares?" The laundry I can get done in spurts, the tiling will get done when it's not so crazy at Sonic and Chris can actually do something other than work and sleep, and I'll do the bathroom in between playing with Trent outside, watching Diego videos and taking a nap with him.

So, in light of my new outlook on life, when Trent asked for chips with his juice this morning, I happily obliged. And I even added some bean dip for good measure. Who says you have to say no all the time? Have fun, enjoy life, and especially, enjoy your downtime and your kiddos. The time with them is fleeting; I'm finding this out all too often these days.

  1. At least the bean dip has some nutritional value? You never liked breakfast food, either! :0)
Enjoy the day with your family, sweetie! Love mom
